Cogdell
Berry Farm is owned and operated by Joy and Johnny Crumbley and
their son-in–law Russ Goodman. Their
two daughters Carra and Juliana, both classroom teachers, help
on the farm during the summer harvest season. This family operates
the 500 acre berry farm using only the best management practices
for agriculture ensuring the safest food product.
Located
in extreme southeastern Georgia, Cogdell Berry Farm has been
a family farm since 1915. Our close proximity to the Okefenokee
Swamp insures the most desirable acidic soil which enables us to
produce delicious berries that are unmatched in sweetness and flavor.
We grow blueberries and blackberries for the commercial fresh berry
market on our Global GAP Certified farm.
Our
fresh-packed berries are distributed all over the Eastern United
States and Canada as
well as Japan and the United Kingdom.
During
the berry harvest particular acres are selected to be handpicked
at the optimal ripeness to make our delicious
jellies and products.
This all began over eight years ago when Joy, working in her home
kitchen, began using some of the ripened fresh berries from the
farm to make Joy’s Jellies to give away to family
and friends. Over the years this sideline has grown to
become a complete line of 13
different products from cider to BBQ sauce. Jams, syrups, and jellies
complete the selection choices. |
